Michael was twenty-two, a preacher’s kid from a church somewhere to the right of the Baptists, and he had never knowingly met a gay person in his life.
Then, on a bored Saturday, he answered a phone call from his roommate’s friend. Before he knew what was happening, he was seeing a movie he absolutely should not have been watching, on the first date he never meant to go on.
That night is book one. It is a novella, a single evening told exactly the way it happened, and it ends the way first dates usually do.
The four novels that follow are the rest of the story: the men, the breakups, the found family that raised him, and the one who turned out to be the last date.
The names are changed to protect the guilty.

Before you decide
Is it really a true story?
Yes. The names and a few details are changed, and the narrator is called Michael, but the family, the church, the dates, and the man at the end of the series are all real. I’ve been with him for more than a decade, and we married in 2020.
Is book one a full novel?
No. My Accidental First Date is a novella, about an evening’s read, and it covers exactly one night. Books two through five are full-length novels. If you only want to sample the voice, the novella is the way in. If you want the story, the omnibus is the better buy, which is why it’s the main offer above.
Does every book have a happy ending?
No, and I won’t pretend otherwise. This is a real life, so there are breakups on the page, including the end of book one. The series as a whole ends happily, because I am living that ending, but the road there is the point. I call the early endings “happily until the next.”
How spicy is it?
Explicit and on the page from book one onward. Michael spends a lot of these books making up for lost time, and the books don’t look away.
Is there anything I should know going in?
It’s a coming-out story set in a conservative religious family, and not everyone in that family handles it well. Later books deal with a partner who wasn’t honest. There is a lot of humor around all of it, because that is how I survived it, but if those are hard limits for you, I’d rather tell you now.
Wolves? Is this a shifter series?
No shifters. “Raised by wolves” is how a preacher’s kid describes being raised by a pack of conservative sisters and a father who preached for fifty-six years. The wolves are my family. I love them. It’s complicated.
Is there an audiobook?
Yes. All five books are on Audible, and the series is one of my most-listened. The complete-series audiobook has all five in one listen. The signed paperbacks are only available here.
How much is shipping?
The omnibus and the leatherbound edition ship free, as does any order over $25. The novella on its own ships for a flat $4.99 anywhere in the US, and most orders arrive within three to five days.
Do you ship internationally?
